Strictly Beds and Bunks can supply a small range of mattresses to fit our bed range. We don’t blind you with science and offer a basic range that will do the job. We have manufactured all our bunk beds to take a thicker 20cm mattress.
Remember, mattress qualities are subjective. Everyone is individual and so to are their expectations and views of comfort. Types of use, weight of the user will all affect the experience of the mattress. Please note a mattress thickness is not the measurement between the edge beading but the mattress spring itself. Mattress springs are under duress, at the edge every mattress has to have a ring edge support bar to keep the spring in. This is always lower than the mattress spring.

All our mattresses are tested and comply to BS 7177 Standards and the Furniture and Furnishings (Fire) (Safety) Regulations 1988, a statutory instrument of the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
The BS 7177 standard tests their resistance to materials used for smoking, such as cigarettes and matches. The tests take place using cigarettes, simulated match flames and full-size mattresses or replicas of the mattress unit that feature the same composition and surface properties. A mattress must pass the Low Hazard rating of BS 7177:2008+A1:2011. Mattresses must now undergo regular testing rather than just passing once for fire safety.
Our Commitment to Environmental Sustainability
We have a passion for sustainability, this stretches from the pine we source to our packaging. We only source our solid timber from FSC and PEFC approved forests. We’re working in partnership with the Woodland Trust as another step in this journey and to help give back to the environment by planting trees with each bed purchased. We continually strive for environmental sustainability.
We’ve reduced our packaging by reducing the size and number of variants of packaging we use, meaning we don’t need to add any padding to the boxes. We also don’t use polystyrene as filler in our boxes –
