Good sturdy bed
We ordered this as replace the previous our single bed. Highly recommend this bed, as its good quality and very sturdy bed. Assemble was easy just to follow the instructions and took about 1,5 -2 hours for us. Good value for money.

good solid design
Somerset 3ft single TWO DRAWER storage bed
The design of the single pine bed seems well thought-out, and it is certainly a strong and durable item when assembled. It comes entirely dismantled -- just a collection of pieces of wood -- but the instructions are clear and the colour-coded chalk marks suffice to get the right pieces in the right places in the right order. All the required components were present in the package. Some of the fixings -- Confirmat screws -- seemed difficult to engage with the supplied allen key. I suspect they may be a cheaper type of screw, but they are strong and effective when mounted. The pilot drilling for the screws was also barely enough in some places: I think where the wood was harder, the screws were very difficult to turn with the small allen key, and I resorted to using a pair of pliers to take some of the strain and spare the skin of my hands. Nevertheless, it was worth it, as the finished bed is excellent.
A couple of minor comments...
- A spacer block was provided with the kit, for measuring the gap between the battens. It was marked with a letter ess (this website does not allow me to quote a single letter ess so I have to spell it out!), but not mentioned in the instructions. Less expert users might not have know what it was.
- The centre legs will obviously give greater strength to the quite adequate side rails, but only providing the floor is truly plane. If it dips (as ours does), the leg will not reach the floor.
In spite of my minor criticisms, the bed is good value for money.
